  • SCOPE

    1 Scope

1.1 These requirements cover the investigation of ampacity of insulated electrical conductors used in specific fire protective systems employing various materials and construction types.

1.2 This test method is intended to determine the ampacity reduction required when insulated electrical conductors are used in specific fire protective systems under normal operating conditions.

1.3 The results obtained by use of this test method are intended to develop data that will assist authorities having jurisdiction, and others, in determining the acceptability, with reference to their ampacity, of insulated electrical conductors installed in specific fire protective systems.
